My name is Katie Curran, and I am a final year undergraduate student in psychology at the University of Galway. I am conducted a research study as a part of my course, supervised by Prof. Brian McGuire and Dr. Helena Lydon, alongside researcher Dr. Rachel Fitzpatrick. This research study is entitled “The Colour of Pain: Co-designing a colourised version of the Wong Baker Faces pain Scale”.

This research study will be done by conducted focus groups with children aged 7-12, both with autism and without autism, as well as with the parents/caregivers of participating children. Each focus group is approximately 45 minutes long, and care will be given to ensure that the children’s focus group is fun and engaging for participants, including fun activities as a part of our data collection.
