We are a team of experts in the area of Educational Technology with many years of experience in designing and delivering programmes for young people which make best use of teaching and learning through technology. We are actively involved in developing and promoting the effective use of technology in the classroom both in Ireland and throughout Europe. Our approach of Project-Based, Technology Enhanced Learning means that students work together to complete projects through English, using technology where it can help them in reaching their objective.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated English language teacher to join our summer programme team. This role involves teaching English as a foreign language to young learners aged 12–17, helping them develop their language skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Position: Part-time English Language Teacher
Location: Galway University
Dates of the programme: 6th – 18th July
Training: 25th + 26th June
Contract duration: 2 weeks
Learners’ Age & Levels: Ages 12–17, levels A2–B2 (Pre-Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate).
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 13:00 PM (Class time is 9:30-12:50 with 20-minute working break).
- Total Weekly Hours: 20 H (Including Prep, briefing, set up, and debriefing)
Salary: from 324 to 340 per week (including 8% holiday pay) for 20h work – depending on qualifications and experience
Key Responsibilities
- To deliver engaging and dynamic english lessons across a range of levels to international young learner students.
- To pro-actively assist individual students in identifying and working to overcome barriers to effective communication and collaboration.
- To collaborate with fellow-teachers and with the support of the Course Manager in planning and delivering effective classes based on the Project Based & Technology Enhanced programme for the levels assigned.
- To be sufficiently familiar with the tools the students are using to be able to instruct them and to troubleshoot any difficulties they have.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 7 or higher).
- Qualifications: TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent recognised teaching certification; OR Qualified primary/secondary school teacher with language teaching experience (additional support provided).
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of teaching experience with young learners.
- Skills: Confident user of technology for teaching purposes.
- Location: Must reliably commute to or plan to be based near location before the start date.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Ireland (EU citizenship or valid work/residency permit).
