Invitation for volunteers on an advisory board.
‘Rethinking Social Skills: An exploration of social connection with autistic young adults living with family carers.’
Many young autistic adults in Ireland live with family carers and face challenges making meaningful social connections outside of the home. This research aims to gain perspective and understanding through consultations with experts by experience, young adults with autism living with family carers.
Before commencing research we would like to create an online advisory group of autistic people in Ireland for collaboration with reflections and giving feedback on the research design, themes, and recruitment. By working with an advisory group this research hopes to improve the quality, relevance, and create more meaningful and impactful research that meets the needs of the autistic population of Ireland.
Once the research has commenced there are further opportunities to stay updated with the project and/or have an impact on project through developing themes, data validation, contextualising findings and dissemination, if the collaborators wish to do so.
