I can’t find my ad
Once you have placed your ad with us, an email is sent to you. This email should arrive soon after you have posted your ad. If you have not received your email there may be a problem with your email address.
You can log in to your account and check the details of the ad to see if the email address you provided was correct.
Always check to see if your email went to your Junk or Spam folder by mistake. To stop this from happening again, add classifieds@advertiser.ie to your contacts.
Remember you can view all your Ads in “My Ads” when logged into your account.
How long will my ad stay online?
This depends on the duration you chose when placing your ad. The minimum amount of time you can choose to place your ad for is one month.
We will send you a reminder seven days before your ad is due to expire in case you would like to renew it. You can also remove your ad at any stage by going to My Ads when logged into your account. It is a good idea to mark your ad as “Sold” once you have sold your goods to avoid getting emails and calls about the sold goods.
My ad isn’t displayed in the correct category/subcategory
If you find your ad has been placed in the wrong category or subcategory, you can change this by going to My Ads when you are logged into your account, and click edit for the ad.
Why is my ad pending?
The reason why your ad is pending is because you have not paid for it. To pay for your ad go to My Ads when you are logged into your account, and click The “More” button for the ad you would like to pay for and then choose “Complete Payment”.
If the advert is for a print advert, and you pay after the print deadline your advert will appear in the next available issue of the Galway Advertiser.
My ad is expiring soon, what should I do?
You can pay to relist it again for another month. If the goods are sold you can mark your ad as “Sold” in My Ads and allow it to expire.
Can I remove my ad?
If you have sold your item, you can mark it as “Sold” by going to My Ads when you are logged into your account. This will remove your contact details from the ad but allows you to relist it again if you wish.
If you would like to remove your ad from the listings, you can can choose the “Remove Ad” option instead. This will stop it from appearing on the website but it will not be deleted from your account. Your removed and expired ads will remain available in your account so you can choose to relist them again in the future.
I forgot my password
Don’t worry if you have forgotten your password, all you have to do is click Forgot Password on the Log in page and then it will ask you to enter your email. An email is then sent to your email address containing a link which allows you to reset your password. Just follow the instructions once you click the link.
Do I have to upload a photo/video?
No, but it is advised to upload either a video or photo. People who post ads with photos find that they sell their goods quicker.
If you decide to upload a video or photo, they must be of the goods being sold. Any other photos/videos are not allowed. For more information visit Citizens Information.
How many photos can I upload?
You can upload up to 10 photos. The combined file size of these photos must be no greater than 100 Mb.
What does it mean to boost my ad?
When you choose to boost your ad, it will push your ad to the first page of results without you having to repost it.
When you first post your ad it appears at the top of the first results page. However, as new ads are posted online it pushes your ad further down the page and eventually it will be moved off the first page.
You can boost your ad at any time by choosing to renew it in the My Ads panel.
What should I do if I have concerns about an ad?
